Pinanak Sentah is a family band, comprising mostly of students. The youngest in the group is 11 years old. ‘Pinanak’ means 'family' in bidayuh language, while ‘Sentah’ is a name of a place in Siburan, 17 miles away from Kuching City. Their aim is to tell the new generation the traditional style of music still exists, while informing the older generation that ethnic contemporary music is still alive in the youth.
Rawi was born in Kuching, formed of seven musicians scouted throughout Sarawak. The multi-talented personalities merged with one shared vision and direction – to bring nusantra folk music to the world.
