Social media and the internet is heavily used to share and stay in touch with people. However, there is something special and particularly meaningful about a physical and intimate postcard that you can hold in your hands – especially when it is something you can customize and use to express your own personality.
Come and join this unique photographic printing workshop with Hong Kong artist Lai Garling. Within the workshop you will use traditional cyanotype methods to print your own postcard.
As cyanotype is an old photographic printing process invented in 1842, requiring sunlight. As part of the workshop you will use sunlight or a lightbox (depending on the weather), botanical plants, and photographic solution to custom-make your own postcard. This is also a wonderful opportunity to gain an understanding of the differences of each flora and fauna in Kuching.
This workshop is for any age and maximum 6 participants per session. Send a personal art piece to someone you love – if you can fight the urge to keep it for yourself!
